I built Soccer Bot, a Slack assistant powered by Node.js, Slack Bolt, and the football data API that delivers real time football standings and match schedules directly to workspace channels. I deployed my bot to a remote Hack Club Nest server using PM2 so that it runs continuously online even when my computer is turned off. During development, I fixed some command timeout issues by accepting Slack requests within three seconds and fixed Socket Mode authentication errors by using proper app level tokens. I also fixed caching bugs in PM2 by clearing the process daemon state and launching a clean process from my codebase.
