Personal site for Stardance Hack Club. Desktop-shell UI (menubar, windows, taskbar) with hero, about, and projects. OmniTab + ZtionixOS. Plain HTML/CSS + a bit of JS. No frameworks. Deploying on Vercel.

Ship #1

Personal site for the Stardance Personal Site mission — desktop-shell UI (menubar, windows with titlebars, taskbar) instead of a normal portfolio layout.

**What’s on it**
- Hero / home window
- `about.txt`
- `projects/` — OmniTab + ZtionixOS with live links

**Hard part:** first version looked like every AI dark-portfolio template. Scrapped that and rebuilt it as a fake desktop so it actually feels like me. Also kept it one-screen (no forced scroll) after that felt wrong.

**Proud of:** the window chrome + file-name nav (`about.txt`, `projects/`), and being honest about ~25% AI assist in the README.

**How to test:** open the live link, click the menubar links (they highlight windows), hit the project “Open live” links, check mobile width. Source is plain HTML/CSS/JS — no build step.

Devlog #1 — Personal Site (Stardance Hack Club)

Date: 19 Jul 2026
Project: Ander507 personal site
Stack: HTML + CSS + a little JS (no frameworks)

Today I started the Stardance personal-site challenge. Goal was simple on paper: public site, at least 3 sections, custom CSS, README with AI notes, and something that doesn’t look like every other dark portfolio on the internet.

What I shipped

  • Desktop-shell layout — menubar, windows with titlebars, taskbar. Feels closer to ZtionixOS than a generic “About / Projects / Contact” template.
  • Three sections: hero, about.txt, projects/ (OmniTab + ZtionixOS).
  • Dropped Contact. GitHub + Ander507.dev are already in the hero/about.
  • Path line set to C:\Users\Ander507\.
  • README with run/deploy notes and ~25% AI disclosure.
  • Going to put it on Vercel (same as my other projects), not GitHub Pages.

What didn’t work

First pass was dark + amber + glow + drifting grid. Looked AI. Scrapped it.

Tried making the hero full-viewport so nav could scroll. User feedback: no scrolling. Reverted to a compact one-screen layout. Nav just highlights the matching window instead.

AI usage (honest)

Cursor helped with scaffolding and a first design pass. I pushed back hard on the look, removed Contact. Concept, copy, and “make it feel like a fake desktop” are mine.
