Hello everyone!!! Welcome to StarOS devlog #3
This will be a short one because I didn’t add too much or anything too special. I did however add support for .md and .json text file alongside the .txt file.
I made working calculator that can do most basic operations. But if I continue this project(of course i will), I will surely add more things to it.
This devlog was made mostly so I could upload the project and finish the mission, but after that I will be adding a lot of features dw.
That’s all for now, see you soon!
Hello Guys!! New update for StarOS!!
It took me some time but now there is a working Notes app that can actually save .txt files, although I might add support for other text files too. Now you can also minimize, maximize or close a window. Are the app icons any good, I made them in canva and i think they turned out fine.
Well I definitely want to add more stuff that I didn’t think of in the previous devlog. I want settings, so you can actually change the background, some simple games like minesweeper or flappy bird. And I would also like to be able to save your StarOS configuration so whatever wallpaper you put it will be saved.
But I wont do anything of that tomorrow since I need to finish the camera and calculator app.
That’s all for now folks, see you in the next devlog!!
p.s. soon you will be able to test out the OS for yourselves!!!
Hello Guys, this is my webOS called StarOS!
I just finished the first 2 guides in making your own webOS, and I think I already learned more than the whole school year where I was studying web design.
I made an ok looking taskbar, a window and I added a background gif. And also the taskbar can tell you time. The only issue that I have to resolve until the next devlog is the site appears to be a little too big so there is this ugly scrollbar, but no worries, I will find a way to fix that.
At the end of the final guide, when I have a working OS, I would want to make a few programs like Paint, Notes, Calculator and maybe even a Camera app. But that’s it for now. I really had fun doing this and I’m very excited to finish the project. Until next time!
