In essence, I have invented a musical instrument called Scale Spot that will detect the scales that you are playing on your bansuri automatically. This way, I will be able to fix Sa and maintain the pitch. At the same time, Scale Spot can be of great use for other musicians and ensembles who need to play in the same key. BUT singing and. any other instrument can also work.
I have created Scale Spot, which is an online application that analyzes any tune and finds out the scale of music in real time. The most difficult task was achieving real-time detection of scale and making sure that the application will work fast and will not require any additional hardware resources or plugins. I am glad that it works well for bansuri players and enables musicians to tune up before a performance. This application has been created using only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In order to test it, you can start a local server, visit http://localhost:8000 and play/sing. Additionally, the reason why I made this was because it helped me play my flute with people because I dont have a perfect ear and for people who dont know bansuris (flute I play) has to keep changing based on the scale, so I have 24 flutes for 24 scales which is wild.
I finished creating the whole website. Because I like playing the bamboo flute I also added recordings from there so people could try if they are too lazy to record themselves. So in my free time I played shape of you and some other random tune and named them shape.mp3 and shape1.mp3. And I reworked the css and add a history scale and metronome that only reaches 240 and I added a better confidence level scale and the A4 hertz tuning (currently its set to 440 but anyone can change it). I also added a dark mode and light mode which kept crashing so claude helped me and that itself took 1 hour to debug so yeah. Finally I added shadows under all the text and made the top red and the bottom blue but it varies.
I worked on the css of it and the styling of everything. Though, it does not really work that well so I will have to check the javascript on what the issues are. In css I used the comic type of font because it looks pretty cool and theme is red and blue because it looks nice. And also the new name of this is going to be “ScaleSpot”.
I fixed a bunch of html errors and also finished around half of it and made all the scales and buttons with js/html together.
I Just created the title page and I am naming it scale detector for now but later I am going to change it. Plus I also create the Start and Stop button.
I started creating the base Javascript part of the code by researching heavily on different type of scales which are in that picture below. I also found there exact frequencies and based on the web I set it so that each of the scales are 100 percent proper and will give no errors. But the major and minor scales are the most important right now.
