so hi! This is ARIEL, a modern browser interface inspired by NASA's work.

Ship #1

So I made a well-customized new tab page for my pc's native browser. It is inspired by nasa's work so the website body and also the right-side image card is made made by fetching Nasa's API, AKA
NAPOD (NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day) so everyday it will change the background image of the website .. also an exciting part the side image card also have a caption card that changes with the image after every few seconds and the website also greets you with the time of the day ..it also has a small clock just below the greeting so you can see the time too and also the bottom of the search bar have some preloaded apps you can open them just by clicking onto the apps .
THE CHALLENGES : Making a Data pipeline to load the Nasa's api so i have to learn the extract architecture and methods like filter and map and also to shuffle through the pictures i used fish-yealt shuffle so it is working good now

Okay, so it’s my last Devlog for this mission (#Devlog3); I completed my website, committed it, and hosted it on GitHub—more than 5 hr raw coding. Learned a lot in this journey
Going to ship my project i made it very very minimalistic to make the ui look clean .
i know i can add a lot of things but I didn’t because I need to move forward making new projects on this journey
(Thanks for reading.)

So today I updated my website interface, fixed some bugs, and also added a new feature: a pop-up window on the side of my website. It fetches data from NASA’s api and shows it on the small window with a lil window for the caption.
Things I learned -

  1. Fisher-Yates shuffle for the pop-up window
  2. Learned how to code the api data pipeline all by myself.
    Bugs fixed -
  3. was having problem with the styling of the pop-up window but managed to solve it with lil bits of tweaks
Things I would like to imply—
  4. To make a custom bookmark sections of all the website that i will visit |
(Tbh i am learning a lot for this project. Thanks.)
and also dont forget to comment i would love to read your thoughts on this project

So I am making a custom new tab for my PC’s native browser. I am using vanilla js, HTML, and CSS as my stack. This is the very first version of it i would like to call it “THE V-1” it is in progress; there is alot to do and bugs to fix…

fetched the data from NASA’s website, the picture will refresh in every 24 hrs, but this looks like a static website. I might add some animations using GSAP. Hmmmmm … lot to do
