CS2 ifying Macropad
Highkey realized that the CS2 model I am basing the macropad on has four rows and not three rows of keys. To try and be more similar I decided to reroute the whole macropad and add a new row. :OOO Addtionally, I had to change the CAD to fit the new dimensions. I also decided that I will be doing a foam and tape mount instead of a plate mount to hopefully look like the game model in the end!

TLDR: More keys, case, and name.
I started by changing the macropad to have 9 keys instead of 3. This included me having to redo the keyboard matrix in the schematic and rewiring a few times. Additionally, I started on the case afterwards based on the macropad guide. However, I found out that the DXF file for the plate wouldn’t fit on my case. In hindsight I could have just changed the sketch size, but the silver lining is that now I have a new VISION for the project.
At first I wanted to be unique so I wanted to include a trackpoint, so the original project name was Numtrack (numberkeys trackpoint). Later, I found out that including a trackpoint would be very challenging as I couldn’t even find the module online. I just removed that part from the description of the project. When I saw the floating plate for the keys it reminded me of the CS C4 so now the project is a CS themed macropad! Hurrahhhh for adaptation!!

PCB Schematics and Routing! I followed the macropad guide for the schematics and routing at first, but then I rerouted the PCB to instead have a switch matrix to prevent ghosting. I also added an OLED screen, a m3 screw hole, and some silk art/text! First time getting this far in a pcb project and it feels so rewarding seeing the 3d outline.
