Update (7/8/2026)

Since the first devlog I have been able to get a lot of progress on the camera, but there is still work to be done.

Additions to the camera include:

• Attachment points for the board and the camera (a Raspberry Pi Zero W and Raspberry Camera Module 3, respectively).
• A cap for the enclosure, complete with attachment points and a hole for a screen.
• Guards for the enclosure cap, which are built into the camera.
• Polish to the camera exterior.

Some things also had to be changed from the original design. Most notably, the board had to be attached to the left side of the enclosure instead of being near the bottom to allow the battery holder to fit (as seen below).

Right now, I’m mostly focused on two issues:

• Power, since the camera will need to be battery powered AND run on that battery power for a while.
• Inputs, since you need to be able to actually take a picture using the camera while keeping water and dust out.

This is my first devlog for a project that I have called CanadaCam!

Basically, its a small digital point-and-shoot camera that’s built to survive the wilderness. Right now, I am mostly just working on developing my ideas for the camera (see below) and putting them in a 3d model.
