Helloo everyone, after procrastinating for a long long time I started designing my hackpad. Before starting the timelapse, with the help of Claude I made a “Hackpad Layout Designer” where I could move, add, and remove components, and I ended up with the design in the first picture (if anybody wants the “designer” I will leave it on the project’s GitHub repo under tools/layout-designer/).
I also made a GitHub repo for the project.
After that I spoke with ChatGPT and we came up with a good wiring diagram. Then I just had to make it a thing in KiCad. I’ve barely used KiCad before and the start was a bit confusing, but after learning the basics I actually had fun placing components and wiring.
I finished the schematic and also added footprints for each component, and now it is 3:45 AM.
I will be gone for 2 days, I think, but after that I hope to get the pcb design done and maybe start working on the case. (I might be a little bit too optimistic)
