a site where you gamble it's budget
so i’ve decided to finally end this project.it was fun but i think it’s already production ready, i’ve been working hard lately and i think it’s finished. i’ve finished the core mechanic of the site getting shittier and i’m really proud of my work. surely there are some bugs and other things that i’d love to change/fix but i’mma ship it as is.anyways, have fun playing!
So I’ve decided to finally address the elephant in the room and draw the sprites; apparently I’ve bitten off more than I can chew, and the sprites came out… shitty (who could’ve guessed). Even though it recorded only like 2 hrs, it was more like 2 hrs + 10+ hrs in Krita. Drawing sprites is apparently extremely hard sooooo idk if I will finish all the sprites before shipping. Anyways, I’ve done sprites for “normal” and “poor” statuses, and I guess I have to do the rich as well, since bankrupt will have no CSS anyways, and I’ll invent something for the filthy rich.
soooo it was quite a long time from the last update (about 5 days)all this time i was working mostly on aesthetics and implementing the core feature of the variable design, anyway i added SFX (mostly so that i can remove them on bankruptcy…). Also i added 3 new modals ready to be implemented! ServiceShutoffNoticeCSS.vue, ServiceShutoffNoticeSound.vue and GameFinishedNotice.vue! also it’s pretty misc and minor but now i added a bunch of typewriter fonts to use!
HUUUUUUUUUGE README.md updata and minor changes1) added clickable links for the hotline2) revisioned some code3) addedd personal infoa and portfolio4) finally made a half as decent README.md
I took the weekend half off and now i’ve practically finished the projectI updated some stuff, refined some designs like the heads/tails oneAlso besides that I added the stuff that i’ve been trying to add sine i finished the coinflip: now we see a spinning roulette sprite! YayI just have to draw a few sprites and i guess it’s ready to be shipped!(ah, yes, don’t mind the placeholder that i used, i needed to check if it would spin the way i need, i’ll make a sprite for it some day)
also i’ll probably ship the project before jul 2, the last thing i want is codding on my birthday, or maybe i will, who knows, anyways there’s not that much codding left to do, only sprites
added not that much1) revisioned the tilting kickflip and kickflip, added neo versions that are… maybe not linearly improved but are a kind of evolution2) added warning when restarting or closing (except when the budget is 1000; it helps when developing and is generally redundant since $1000 is the initial budget)3) added a disclaimer to the coinflip modal (a bug when the coin side image updates with a delay)4) added a general disclaimer as well as a gambling addiction disclaimer with auto country and hotline fetching5) brainstormed adding “past due” warnings when budget is low
added another shit ton of stuff1) modals for: coinflip animation; coinflip side selector; roulette animation; also added arrows and stuff2) made sprites for normal coin head & tail3) added the ability to select a coin side before betting (yeah, forgot about it last time)4) made so that on coinflip (when you press the flip button) it plays the animation in a modal, the animation actually corresponds to your bet and the status (won/lost) and ypur bet amount!5) finally addressing the elephant in the room:you can now kickflip the logo! yes… also that brought a rework of the tilting script + now we have tilting-kickflip.ts because it wasn’t working good enough with both stacked and kickflip.ts in case you don’t need tilting at all
added a shit ton of stuff1) modals for betting, selecting roulette number and a template for the game modal but i’ll add that later (maybe)2) uhm i made gambling working? yes, now you can bet and only guess if it’s working fine or if it has a severe bug3) refined the layout (probably)4) added /sandbox to test and develop stuff5) that’s it ig, fine for 3-4hrs? maybe
added tilting to the title, and buttonsadded a working budget counterthe placeholder now serves the purpose of debug: bet adds $100 to the budget and roll subs $100next update should add at least some working mechanics on gambling, and then i will leave the aesthetics and the core mechanic of the design getting better or worse to the end ( i still have to draw the sprites…)
as of now it’s not more than a demo of the design and layout, i haven’t even decided on what the third came should be, i guess for an hour it’s quite good
