Slide calipers

I realized I needed accurate measurements for most of my projects! So I thought why not build a measurement tool first?

Ship #1 Pending review

I built a slide calliper for myself!

The whole project is around cad designing and since slide calipers have quite a few interactions parts, it was challenging to make them all fit together while keeping dimensions and keeping the model good looking! Also I had to make sure I put tolerance to make the thing work even after printing

I'm really glad that I have made such a cad model myself. now I'm more confident about my 3d modeling skills!

If someone wants to use my model, they need to print the sections of my 3d model seperately and then combine them into one physical tool! An m3 heat-set insert and one m3 screw also need to be added to the build. I haven't added any engraved readings into the scale. One can print their own suitable metric readings and appropriate vernier scale reading and stick it to the model, making the model useful for their needs! It overall makes the model versatile and usable by multiple users.

So Finally I completed the vernier scale part as well. Now all I need to do is, make a screw and a threading for it in the vernier scale part, which will complete the project!!!

So I built the main scale part of the caliper, but I’m having some trouble with the vernier scale part. I need to look at some real calipers pictures before making that part.
