now that I’m finally done with school, I decided to start coding stuff for Stardance with this Slack Bot guide! I built ‘hughmanns-bot’, a Slack bot in a Nest container that responds to messages 24/7.

while making the bot, I felt that the whole setup and installation of different libraries and such was pretty tedious; however, I feel proud of having made my first project for Stardance that people can actually use!

to test it, go to any channel in the Slack and type in /hughmanns-bot (commands will automatically appear later) and have fun!

hey guys welcome to my slack bot

I managed to go through pretty much all the guide, but I’m still waiting for my nest container request to be approved :(
so far, the bot runs a couple of commands such as ping (tells you latency), joke (tells you a joke), and catfact (tells you a cat fact). it does work, however it’s not yet live on slack. I’ll make sure to get it live by the end of tomorrow, probably today.
