Last Devlog before ship#2

Well, since last time I have really been cleaning up things.

I created icons for the bottom “taskbars” and also created a new favicon yet again lol. Furthermore fixed some weird glitches and optimized the website more for mobile.

Then also made many little css changes that I don’t remember all of anymore - but everything looks somewhat good and I am very pleased with the website so far. Aditionally made a little surprise when you click on the home-button in the bottom “taskbar” for you to find out (;.

All in all just much cleanup and little changes for ship number 2.

I did a lot of smaller fixes since last time, now windows have a pop in, and pop out animation AND the music player is back! I created a split taskbar that also has like the button for the music app and also made all of this mobile friendly - at least I hope. Not much left to do anymore for this project! Really happy how it is turning out!

Implementing Feedback

So, since I have already shipped this project once - quite some time ago now, I have gotten some reviews and many seem to point out the same issue. The hitbox of the close button from every window is very weird. And yeah, that is - or better was true, since I managed to fix it.
Additionally I added transitions for the window-dragging and also the option to change the timeformat from a 24 hour one to a 12 hour one by clicking on the time.

I know the music app still isn’t back and I will get to that soon - hopefully.

Finally also made the Website usable on mobile and still making it look good. Worked with the @ media screen in css which turned out to be wayy easier than I expected. Even tho I ran into some issues getting cut off the bottom part of my site often due to the mobile navigation button - but managed to fix that too. I think it turned out awesome.

So, I drew Icons for both browser and trashcan, I also redesigned my favicon, still not totally happy with it but it wlll work eventually lol. Then made a browser app, (made some mockups first) where you can check out websites I created. For now it replaces the Music player icon, I will add the music player back asap, but for now it stays like that since I want the music player to be at another spot.

Added a custom domain and more!!!

First of all I added some new Art, Games and such I have created since first making this website -
then also created the custom domain, with which I had some issues but managed to get it working.

I will continue working on this site as part of the WebOS 2 Mission and already have some plans I want to do:

• A fake Internet Explorer with my own Websites
• A Paper Bin with abandoned Ideas and so on
• Change the taskbar
• changing the Music player to a small Icon in taskbar
• add sfx
• try out the in some app

Wrote all of the text and replaced all placeholders, made the readme and also a musicplayer that plays some .oggs that are cc0.

Added the new “Games-App” where all games I’ve worked on are listed with a itch embed, description, images and so on. It took ages writing all of the text, getting the right layout and so on - but I managed to do it. Also made the window change upon grabbing a bit and replaced the placeholder App Icons with new ones I drew - turned out noice in my opinion. I probably did more stuff but I forgot - thanks for reading through all of this

I think I pretty much finished my “Art-App”, added the option to click on the images to view them in bigger size, also made custom cursors and added many hyperlinks to my socials - most importantly I discovered animations! Made some slight changes to pretty much everything and added animations everywhere I could haha. I really like how the OS is looking, I have plans to add a new App in which there is Information about Games I worked on and more. lets see how that turns out.

Managed to find out what the guide wanted me to do lol and also finished the guide!! Wohooo!!! I fixed many bugs and also made a Art-App to display what I have done, its not finished yet but we are getting there. I noticed once again how slow I am with coding this, but at least I am learning much along the way - and it took so long to search for all of my images, gifs and videos that I wanted to display in the Art-App, but we are getting there. Hope to maybe submit a build in the next or so devlog. thx for reading :D

I am confused. Continued working on my OS by following the third and fourth guide. Following the third guide everything went smoothly, I managed to make the windows moveable, closable, openable and so on. - But when continuing with the fourth guide I got so confused… I have no clue what I am supposed to do and what the guide wants me to do. Aaa Javascript you confuse me so much :( - I will probably take a break and try to resolve all of this another day….

Using CSS I changed the appearance of the site further, by following the Tutorial I made the Top-Bar and added the Time (converted to EU time)
