What did you make?
I made Clip That, a Discord bot that saves the last 30 seconds of a voice call when someone says “Clip That”. Users must explicitly opt in before their audio is processed, and clips are posted to a dedicated channel as both a mixed MP3 and a ZIP containing individual audio tracks.
What was challenging?
The hardest part was getting audio to stay synchronised despite Discord only sending packets when people are speaking, then building a speech recognition system that could detect the trigger phrase without blocking audio capture.
What are you proud of?
I’m proud that I took an idea I’ve wanted for ages and turned it into a working bot with way more than I ever initially imagined (and the demo video is funny).
What should people know so they can test your project?
The source code and setup instructions are in the GitHub repository :)
