These 10 hours were filled with forgetfulness and pain, made lots of mistakes :))))

Finished the PCB, had a couple issues with unconnected pins, errors, and edge.cuts n stuff

Coded keyboard in QMK, uploaded to git repo, pretty simple

Most of time was spent designing the case/cover for the keyboard, had lots of roadblocks along the way though….
Firstly, I forgot how to actually sketch? I don’t know how it happened
Then, I forgot that I need a top shell for my keyboard…
Had a couple other issues with placing of switches and parts, but CAD is now Mostly done, just gotta figure out mounting/putting it all together, and making a slot for the MicroUSB cable

Started work on 80% keyboard!
1st attempt didn’t work to well - the wiring was a mess, so I ended up redoing the matrix and scaling down from 104 to 87.
Working on CAD for it now, planning on doing something cool with wooden filament.

Was quite a busy day!
Finished initial submission of StarPad, added Star Wars designs, and finished CAD design of case.

Today was also dedicated to coding everything (used QMK), and it was a success! The 4 keys control up/down/left/right, and the rotary encoder controls volume. Haven’t coded the OLED yet, don’t know what to do…
Can’t wait to see what revisions I get on StarPad.

Mostly done work on the general design of the macropad. Want to turn it into a star-wars based macropad, but finished the general design.

Had a couple of issues that took a bit more time to fix…. Firstly, accidentally forgot to save my kicad files, so they reverted to an old version… (-3 hours of work). Also, I struggled to align two holes in onshape, which I spent like 30 minutes trying to fix.

On a good note, the entire PCB electrical section is done, and in the next devlog, I’m just going to do external adjustments!

Designed first PCB(!!!), so it’s a bit messy :( . Designed to work as a macropad, I didn’t have the time to CAD the shell for the actual one.
Included is timelapse of my first practice PCB, following the “My awesome macropad” tutorial. Onshape CAD is included.
Can’t wait to continue with this project tomorrow!
