I did a bunch of stuff again: I pushed all the keys together and made the rotary encoder the 9th key in the 3x3 matrix… I rerouted everything 3 times… I had lost hope… BUT IM DONE.

So, I had made a mistake in my last run of making the PCB and that is: THE LEDs SHOULD HAVE BEEN FLIPPED and not only that but a bunch of other errors that were making me pull my hair till the point I just edited its footprint. BUT, all the errors are fixed (and i got a solution for the board being too tiny for the screen)… it has been a long day. Oh yeah and I added silkscreens… isnt the snoopy so cute?

A bunch has happened since i last switched over. I went back and forth learning some new things. I am finally done with most of the design, I just have to fix the DRC errors and move onto the CAD and firmware.

I officially hate routing PCBs… i spent two hours on just organizing and routing these… I routed most of them, leaving only for the LEDs and its GPIO pins to be connected. Can anyone give any ideas to improve the routing please.

soo I figured three things out: one, there is a additional materials guide on hackpads… (ik it was sad that i discovered it so late), and that i need to use something like a reverse mount led for the glow to come from under the key and finally figured out the last of my material crisis for the screen on what to use

SO instead of just 6 switches, I wanted 9 switches, so I made a 3x3 keypad. So, I learnt how to make that and then added more LEDs for each of those and fixed up some wiring stuff for it

Made a daisy chain out of LEDs cause I wanted to have multiple LEDs beneath every one of the switches. Tomorrow morning, likely gonna make add 3 more switches and make it into a 3*3 keypad and more LEDs for that… YAY!

phew so that was a long run but this time i was able to debug most of the wiring stuff that didnt really work for me last time such as using the same gpio pin for all 6 of my keys which won’t work for my objective and fixing my OLED and RGB light configs. And then, I was able to fix some errors through the electrical rules checker and I was able to see my PCB! But, after seeing how bulky one buzzer was (which I kept cause sometimes with my headphones I need something to buzz my notifications from my laptop) I decided to keep it for another time!

This is the FIRST devlog: I already decided what parts to use and imported most of them into kicad. this is my first shot at wiring… it is hard… i think i already messed it up. I googled a lot of my questions on my ipad. I will try to fix my problems
