Hello everyone:)
Ship Pending review

I made ThirdView - you type a description of a scene and it jumps straight to that moment in a video, instead of scrubbing through the timeline forever. It runs fully in the browser using CLIP through Transformer.js, no uploads, no server.

The hard part was getting an actual ML model to run smoothly with zero backend, plus CLIP wasn’t built for video, so figuring out how often to sample frames took a lot of trial and error.

What we’re proud of is that it just works fully private, fully free, and it actually fixes something that annoys us every single time we watch something not together, without turning into some bloated overengineered app.

Guys, I was suffering from a problem. When my friends and I watch any movies or something else, mostly anime, then we surely find a scene where me and my boys melt. And when we meet physically, we have to tell each other about that. And this is the most time-consuming part. My one friend who doesn’t even know the episode, then how can we think he will remember the timestamp? That’s why, by the way, I’m also like my friend. That’s why I built this app.

It means you just have to upload the videos and then tell about the scene, like, “the main character, who wears yellow clothes, is beating the man,” and you will get the timestamp without any problem. Now, my friends and I don’t have to waste more than 30 minutes for just a 10- to 15-second clip in a one-hour episode. Maybe we can get the correct timestamp in just two or three minutes.

Hold a minute. If you are lucky, then you might get the correct timestamp randomly. But I know our and your luck are not that great.

And it’s just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

By the way, let me tell you how it is working. For this, you can read the README.md. For the trial, you can visit thirdview.vercel.app.

By the way, for most people, it is just extra storage. But for me, this is my first project, such a great project I made.

Bye-bye. Just visit the repo.

Oh, and it completely works locally, means in the browser, but it’s not connected to the cloud. That’s why it may be slow.

I have just host my project on Vercel, and I will ship this project today after making a show video.

My first project is almost ready to ship! I can’t wait to show you guys. It’s just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but it solves a really annoying problem in our friend group. I’ll try to publish it tomorrow. Bye for now!
