Amateur trying my best to learn!
Ship Pending review

I made an interactive text game in HTML and CSS. Somewhat like those novels where you go to a page based on your choice.
It’s a website so it’s easy to play, no installs.

There’s several unique endings and 10+ connected webpages, which I’m happy about.

Had a lot of trouble when i ran out of time on GH codespaces. had to manually copy and paste commts cuz i couldnt figure out how to login either 😭 struggled with the CSS and little bit of JS i threw in as well, but it helped me learn new things like time and connecting multiple pages rather than just using sections, so I can’t say I’m unhappy with it.

I’m proud of myself for the idea, and I really think I can improve on this in the future. I want to make a game like this, but even better, with better styles, more JS, longer storylines, and more endings. I think this can work as a base for that.

I’m especially proud of truth.html (no spoilers) because i thought the idea was great.

I hope you enjoy!

Hello World is a metafiction text game written in Python that functions as a Python tutorial, while the program tries its best to simultaneously demotivate the user (lol). But who knows, maybe there’s a reason for that…

I tried my best to make use of the critique I received on my previous python project by introducing better error handling and using ANSI color codes to make it more interesting.

I learnt new things while working on it, such as the color codes, and try and except functions, so I’m quite happy with it. But I did procrastinate like crazy and had a lot of issues after my GitHub codespaces ran out… but I’m done now, somehow.

It’s playable on pyterm without install! If you give it a try I hope you enjoy playing!

Lately I’ve been working a bit slower than I would like to, but I made a fair amount of progress today. What the program structure looks like right now:

Devlog 2
Haven’t posted a devlog in some time! The game is progressing quite well.
I’ve learnt several new things while working on it lately, such as:

  • ANSI escape codes to change the text color. Big game changer (no pun intended).
  • Made short functions in order to save myself time writing longer commands over and over to leave lines or wait for a short time
  • learning Try and Except these days! as well as the history of Python (it’ll be relevant…)

Eventually:

  • I want it to have at least 3 endings, and maybe even achievements.
  • I want to increase interactivity

As for the storyline, I’m working on that as I go along.
Any recommendations or advice appreciated!

I really enjoyed making my previous Python project, much more than the ones I’ve been making with HTML, so I decided to make another! I will be paying close attention to some of the critique i got on my previous Python project and adding more features, improved error handling etc. and improving my README and devlogs. I want to learn new skills with this project as well!!!

MiniPy:
I made a collection of terminal minigames written in Python. Some of the games have a computer opponent and some are made for in-person multiplayer. It can be played easily in a browser at the PyTerm link; no installation is necessary.

I’m quite proud since so far this is my largest Python project with over 200 lines of code. So far I’ve only made very simple projects in Python so this was a bit of a challenge, but it was fun. It was especially hard to figure out the function for the Capitle game, but using some guidance online I managed to figure it out eventually.
I learnt some new skills that I think will be really helpful to me soon since I will have to learn Python for school, so I will have a headstart on the basics.

Devlog 2: I added RPS! I also added a pvp higher/lower game, on suggestion of WinWon23, and might add more multiplayer games. I added a help button and added some spacing to make it more readable. I’m really enjoying coding in Python

Made the first game - a higher/lower number guessing game. Would appreciate if anyone suggested ideas!
