not good at devlogging but I am almost there. only thing standing in the way of MVP is Gerrit expecting change owners to be Gerrit users (I was using the envelope mailer).
the SMTP protocol sucks. handshaking is reasonably functional, and the server can successfully resolve both implicit branches and explicit branches, and resolve them to their commits. access to private repos is forbidden. still need to figure out why the server can’t find repos; that’ll be fun.
