Hi I am java, I like making things.
Have a look around

Ship Changes requested

Well, First Ship

Java learns how to use nix.

The desktop is hyprland
The Shell is Noctalia
The terminal is kitty

I may make things latter on more modular however since nixos is declarative you should just be able to clone the repo and things just work. anyway hope you guys like it.

Well here I am…. nix is hard but I love how delcative it is. most of the time I spend is reading the wiki and learning how to config things which is fun. I rearrage files and I also was able to config the look and feel of things for me.

So… I am using noclalia right now and hyprland I am not sure if I want to switch to nir as I don’t like the creator of hyprland hower it looks nice I think and this is declarative which is nice.

javi learns how to rice there linux desktop…
anyway here I am learning how to rice my linux desktop. this is what I
have gotten so far I have been just playing around with the waybar
learning how the code works as well as nix. nothing is fancy however
it’s been 8 hours so I think Im learning things idk I am using less ai so I think that progress

Tiny Design

So as I wait for grant money, I have decided to make a fork of the project in Onshape, and I made it smaller. I now have an 80 tooth on the big main gear instead of a 112 tooth. I am still going to be making the 112 tooth version, as I would like to get my first prototype made. This will let me practice building, and I can tweak anything else in the next version.

Frame Size

  • Width Old 226 mm, New 162mm
  • Height Old 152 mm, New 130mm

This is my project to attach a motor to my sailboat. What I have done is attach a mount to my boat foil and I have been doing some intil testing.

I think I made it too big…….

anyway been awhile since an update. I am just going to build it and see what happens the plan is right now it to stop worrying about “what if” and just see what is wrong with the designs.

I am thinking of moving this dev log to my new website.

I ask in the slack if I could move the dev logs to my website I made for the project. so I may be just putting links to them here. aka I think I am going a little crazy whille I wait for funding apps to reopen anyway here are some photos of what I may added to the website.

Hello Yall, maybe I should lock in to what I am making give some more
detail of how this project is going to work out.
So I am trying to make a ornithopter what it does is it flap its wing to
generate life ( aka a mechinal bird) The Goal of the project: to build a
lightweight ornithopter capable of stable powered flight using a simple
flapping mechanism.

The project will be set up in phases.
Phase 1
This is the prototyping phase of the wing movement mechanism. I will be
designing a body that takes the rotating motion from a motor to move the
wings up and down. I will be looking for reliability, strength, and
efficiency.
Phase 2
Here I will be designing the wing. I need to make it lightweight. I will
also be testing it with the gear mechanism and measuring how much lift
it produces so I can determine my design constraints for the tail.
Phase 3 – Adding the Tail and Other Electronics
This is where I will be adding the tail and electronics together. I will
also be doing some early test flights if all goes to plan. My goal is
to have a clean mechanical system. The tail will look like an airplane
tail, as I am currently just focusing on the flapping mechanism.
Phase 4
This phase is for debugging and testing. I want to aim for reliability
and simplicity, and I will be conducting my own test flights as well.

Current Progress (Phase 1)
I am currently in Phase 1 and have decided to use a crankshaft based
mechanism for wing motion.I am using this simulation tool to help
calculate and visualize the wing
path:https://www.desmos.com/calculator/iuprdl6sxkMy motor has a KV
rating of 1700, and I will need a gear reduction of approximately
21.24:1. This may change during testing, but for now I am satisfied with
the I have just submitted my project for funding so I am hoping it will
go though.

– Changes I’ve Made.
So I change how the space sits as it look a little to week and it was
interfering with the flapping motion

I built a homelab where I host a single sign-on (SSO) system, a media server, and a notes app. I also run my own website and have learned how to set up and manage a reverse proxy.

So I’ve Finish my design and I would be ready to move to the protyping phase. from the last design i have change the movment mech so that I have a clean path to follow. I also made a bom list of all of the parts.

Hello, this is my Ornithopter project. I am just working on a mechanism to move the wings up and down. This will let me test to see if I have the flapping motion correct. The next thing I need to do is print it out and do a test with it to see if my measurements are right. In Onshape right now, I need to get the ratio proper so I can have a clean up-and-down movement. The next thing I need to do is prototype with a 3D printer.
