while using a laptop or other device with vanilla pure data installed allow a user to change variables/toggles in automationism via a midi device that is relatively easy to put together and 3D print a case.
my dad has recruited me to make a soil moisture monitor for the yard/garden beds, possibly with other ambient monitoring like temp as well (for planting season information) that sends back information to either another device or hopefully something he can access via wifi or bluetooth. The hardware and pcb design part shouldn't be too bad.. but the software side? That might be a little rough.
reusing the parts from an old spectrophotometer and free lab clean out stuff to test out different optical effects and create an artistic piece. Will end with (at least): a collated light source into interchanagble lenses and attachments. Then routed to 3-4 parabolic mirrors on servos which will be moveable via a controller of some sort. Might keep wired might do BT dunno yet
