Today, I worked on my Hackpad project by designing the enclosure in Onshape. I added the USB port opening and internal mounting points, and exported the 3D model as a STEP file. I also uploaded the CAD file to GitHub so my design is easy to access and review. Next, I’ll refine the enclosure and check that the PCB and components fit properly inside the case.
I’ve been working on the design of my MelodyPad using Onshape. I made the enclosure with eight raised keys, a USB port opening, and mounting points for the electronics. I’m still working on improving the design, but I’m happy with how it’s coming along so far. I also recorded a one-hour timelapse of my progress. Next, I want to refine the design and start figuring out how to fit all the electronic components inside.
