I made VaskoOS, my own mini WebOS with a custom desktop design and multiple draggable windows. It includes a Notepad, Calculator, Start Menu, live clock, random quotes, and a saved Notepad. The most challenging part was making the windows draggable and making sure they move correctly without breaking the layout. I’m proud that I created my own design instead of copying the guide exactly. My extra features are the random Quote of the Day and automatic Notepad saving. There is no password, so anyone can try it. To test it, open the apps from the taskbar and drag the windows by their title bars.

Today I added draggable windows to VaskoOS. Now the Notepad, Calculator, and main VaskoOS windows can be moved around the desktop by dragging their title bars. I also made the windows come to the front when I move them, so they behave more like real OS windows.This was a bit challenging because I had to use JavaScript to track the mouse position and update the window position while dragging. I’m happy with how much more interactive the WebOS feels now.

I have successfully upgraded vaskoOS to its most advanced version yet! I completely rearranged the desktop environment so the core Intro window sits right in the center, while the Notepad is docked in the top-left and a brand new working Calculator app is placed in the bottom-right. I also added a dedicated calculator button to the taskbar for full window minimization/maximization. Finally, I optimized the background system clock to run safely across all regional browser settings and integrated a dynamic developer Quote Generator that updates on click. Everything is now fully interactive, fully translated to English, and responsive!

I have upgraded my WebOS called vaskoOS! I moved the transparent windows into a beautiful side-by-side layout, added a working Notepad app that you can minimize and maximize using a dedicated taskbar button, integrated a clean HTML IKEA logo, and added a functioning light/dark mode toggle button.

I am working on my very own WebOS called vaskoOS! I successfully created a transparent central glass container, added a real-time running clock at the top, and fixed my custom IKEA logo using local paths in GitHub.
