It’s 1am, you should go to sleep
I spent the first hours of the morning putting switches and keycaps on my board in Fusion. It took me some time to get it set up and used to it, but I’m getting the hang of it.
FINISHED THE PCB
Finally finished the PCB! It took some time, but it was worth the effort; I can’t find a single flaw with it.
Still PCB designing
Almost finished with the board. It took me about 12 hours to get to this point, but I’m happy with the outcome. I really took my time with tracing, but it looks amazing. I hope 3D modeling is going to go a bit faster, though.
I continued with my PCB by making traces. Next up is making the shape of the board and creating the ground plane, but I still need to figure out how to do that.
Today, I was working on the PCB for my design. I concluded that I won’t have enough ports to use two rotary encoders, so I removed one. I also updated the design accordingly. In the end, I finished the schematic and started routing the PCB.
I still have to figure out how to make a breakout board. Does anyone have a good tutorial or tips?
I was making an electrical schematic for my HackPad, and I ran into an issue when connecting all the components to the controller, as there are not enough pins.
I have: dispaly(2 pins), 3x3 matrix(6 pins), rgb leds(1 pin) and 2 rotary encoders(4 pins, the buttons are in the matrix).
The controler has 11 data pins but I need 13.
Can someone help?
Finishing the day by creating an overall design for the hackPad to give myself an idea of how to build the PCB and case. I ended up with the idea of making a breakout board that I can connect with some wires to the main board and mount one of the rotary encoders on the side.
Also im wondering what you guys use to make quick design, personally use draw.io .
My first PCB design.
