3D modeled a rough sketch mount for the electronics that are going to be ordered. It’ll be in to peaces that screw on together but today I jsut worked on the bottom half of it. It’s going to be 3D printed so I can see the quality of the screw holes but I wont be able to see if the electronic parts and the wires fit till the parts are ordered.
Developed the first segment of the code needed for the sensor. Focused on creating accurate altitude reading. I’m using a BME280 that senses atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity. The atmospheric pressure readings were very wrong meaning the altitude calculations would deviate by up to HUNDREDS of feet. Eventually I got it down to a better calibration. In the process I had to learn a lot about the BME280 library. Hopefully the next part of the programming, which is configuring the temperature and humidity sensors, will be much easier.
I was running the simulations behind the first iteration of the rocket I’m designing. Once I created the model and ran the simulation I was happy with the intended altitude but I realized the rocket is much too small to fit the sensors I’m going to design.
Creating a Digital Model of the Atmoshopper, a rocket that’ll record atmospheric data as a function of altitude. More polished 3D models of the nose cone and a custom adaptor were made in Fusion 360 for the purpose of 3D printing.
