Hi there, I make random stuff; sometimes more useful than other times.

Added the infection, incubation of it and so much more

Devlog #4, 5 & 6
This time I added the entire infection, so here’s something about it:

  • You can sometimes (about a 10% chance) become infected by getting bit by the mosquito
  • It takes for an infected player to become truly infected full 10 in-game days, during which the player enters an “incubation state
    During the incubation state the:
    • Each day further into the incubation something changes, until you reach the tenth day
    • These changes are mostly weaknesses, such as getting random negative effects at random for a short period of time, or growing moles, which are visible to other players
  • Once you are fully infected a majority of the debuffs are lifted, whilst new ones are added
    • Such as: losing a lot of your inventory space, not being able to wear boots and helmets, or burning in the sun.
    • On the other hand you also gain some decent buffs at night, during bloodmoons, or being ignored by enemies

Seeing this project for the first time?

I am making a pretty big minecraft mod that adds an infection, blood moons and so much more! It is mainly aimed for servers, as playing an infection mod alone doesn’t make much sense. The disease/infection will become spreadable among players and forming two sides; the infected and the healthy one, each fighting for their side using various things and skills they learn on their way. Majority of what I just wrote here is yet to be added, so if you are just a tiny bit curious be sure to keep an eye on this project :)

Added the blood moon, mosquito and improved the shrine!

Devlog #2 & 3

I added the blood moon a rather rare event that can happen after a world is “awaken” by the awakening ritual. During the blood moon, regular players get weakness and mining fatique and aggresive mobs are buffed. Also a slightly eerie music plays to get you into the atmosphere.
During the blood moon a new and rare enemy can be encountered - the mosquito. Just like the ones in real life it does not exactly do all that much damage, but the aftermath is catastrophical. The strength of all effects during a blood moon is scaled depending on the moon phase, so when the moon is in full strength the effects are as well.
At last, but definitely not least the awakening shrine has been improved, with that huge shoutout to Fishy drawer for the amazing build!

New awakening structure!

Devlog #1
I added the awakening structure, which serves as an introduction of the mod to the player.
The structure spawns quite rarely and has an appearance of some sort of church.
Inside you can find:

  • Two puzzles
  • Two lore books
  • Three (in theory four) different visual layers
  • The awakening block that starts the chance for blood moons to spawn.
It also harms any player that has touched it and will dissappear, alongside all of the other ones in that world.
Upon triggering the block (which is done by any players touch) a sound is played (for all players in that world) and an ominous message is broadcasted in the chat.

Alright, so I may, or may not have forgotten to post any updates in a while and quite a lot of things have been added, so here’s a small overview:

  • Complete visual (and technical) overhaul of the Edit and Detail window. I improved their overall visuals, added a lot of new things, such as the photogallery, all while fixing some older bugs and issues.
  • Addition of a whole new photogallery, to both edit and detail window. With it you can now have multiple different pictures for each component + a main picture. You can click on each picture to view them in a new window; in their full scale. You can also delete each picture, or in the case of the main picture you can also swap it out for a new one.
  • In the full picture view you can also cycle between the components individual pictures, just like in most photogallery apps.
  • Newly added description, it is very simple, but you can have a description at the very least. I am currently working on a whole new description system with MarkDown support, so you can make bold text, italic, or things like headings and paragraphs.
  • Also I added the ability to favorite your favorite components and sort by that. It is quite a simple feature but in my opinion it is a nice to have feature. Alongside this I added the ability to filter components, so now you can easily separate your fav components.
It is quite a lot of stuff to say the least and I’ll try my best from now on to do the devlogs in their respective times. See the 2 people who even read these in the next one!

I made a minecraft mod that has one purpose - fix an issue where modded servers crash due to a known problematic method that serene seasons uses. I took on this project because I saw nobody else doing anything about it, or keeping their solutions only to themselves. It was a whole new experience for me, as I've never made a minecraft mod, so I had to learn most of the things the hard way. I'm proud that it took me a pretty small amount of time to make it and also that I even finished it.
To truly test this mod I reccomend making a 1.21.1 neoforge server with serene seasons present, some world generation mod like tectonic and using chunky to generate a few hundred chunks. Sure, not the easiest setup, but the project's main focus is to fix a moreover niche issue.

Devlog #2 for PC Parts Lister

Main addition: Super specific and smart filtering system, allowing to seamlessly filter your components; by name, by type, even by things like amount!
List of important changes:

  • Added the smart filtering system window
  • Added the amount value for components
  • Re-used part of code from adding components
  • Completely overhauled the re-used code, to be smarter, more effecient and way more easily expandable in the future
  • Added a smart error reporting inside the filtering window, informing you if there’s something wrong
  • Changed the way certain components values are stored
  • Added and improved a few already existing button designs
  • Improved certain behaviours of windows
  • Fixed issues when opening the app in full-screen
  • Fixed components saving with unrealistic values (for example having a SSD with the capacity “donkey”)
