Ich baue Hackmusic, ein interaktives digitales Musikstudio und Synthesizer-Dashboard direkt für den Webbrowser. Das Besondere an diesem Projekt ist der radikale, rein codebasierte Ansatz: Die Anwendung nutzt keinerlei externe Audio-Dateien, Samples oder MP3s. Jeder einzelne Sound – von der melodischen Synthesizer-Note bis zum fetten Percussion-Schlag – wird in dem Moment, in dem er abgespielt wird, von der Web Audio API des Browsers rein mathematisch in Echtzeit berechnet und erzeugt. Das Herzstück bildet ein visuelles 16-Schritt-Raster, auf dem Benutzer eigene Loops programmieren können. Neben einer harmonischen Melodie-Sektion verfügt die App über eine voll integrierte, synthetische Drum-Machine, die Kick-Drums, Snares und Hi-Hats über gezielte Frequenz-Modulationen und kalkuliertes Rauschen simuliert. Ein virtuelles Mischpult erlaubt es zudem, Sound-Parameter wie das Ausklingen (Release) live zu steuern oder einen räumlichen Echo-Effekt (Delay) hinzuzufügen.
