Devlog 6:

Spent 2 hours trying to fix my OSD, nothing worked. This drone has taken some pretty hard landings so I think that some of the pins just got damaged which is why my OSD isn’t showing up. I took this thing flying a couple days ago and unfortunately had a pretty hard crash so I will have to fix this now. Frame injuries and a prop break. Already ordered new props for the drone and will be attempting to fix the drone up with some plastic bond super glue (Don’t want to re-print frame because I don’t own a 3d printer).

Devlog #4:
-Spent four grueling hours in my garage finalizing all solder details on my drone. This included re doing all VTX wiring and re-doing the power chord for easier battery swapping.
-Next up: More flying and PID tuning!
-P.S.: Went flying today and I flew through FOUR! LiPo batteries! The reason I’m so excited about this is before all my re-soldering the drone would have random power cuts and it was pretty dangerous. Now, there was no issues at all! This makes me very happy especially because I can fly smooth as butter.

Lapse timelapse almost got fried, luckily got it back! I have no clue what’s happening, I think servers are messing up on cloudflare or something like that. Anyways I cleaned up the wires in the tail section of the drone and now they are much more managable! I love this new look and next will be resoldering those red and black wires you see in the front sticking out from under the VTX board. Also did some simulator training like 30ish minutes.

High speed drone log 2:
I added a camera hole (no camera selected yet) and cooling exhaust holes in the rear side. Since the nose of the drone will be experiencing higher pressure due to the speed and the shape of the airfoil, the tail will have lower pressure. And as I learned yesterday (I knew before just didn’t know it applies here as well!) the air will naturally want to go out of the holes in the rear because of lower pressure! This effect will give me natural cooling for the internal components.

Made a first rough draft for my high speed drone

355mm in length, 2207 motors, 5 inch props.

Will be detailing in the next couple days. Also will be researching what hardware and software to install into this thing.

Finalized all installations onto the drone:
-VTX installed and connected

  • Arms secured, will hold off on installing locks (tiny hinges) until soldering is complete.

Tomorrow or in the next couple days:
-FPV training
-Soldering
-Flying and PID Tunning

Here’s how it’s going!

I am getting a lot better at controlling an fpv drone, will start practice with a headset on more in the next days or weeks.

Tomorrow (or today, however you want to put it), I will be making final assemblies to the drone frame. After that I will be doing some soldering modification and installing electrical safety measures. Then I’ll check it with a smoke stopper. Then I’ll be flying and PID tuning. Will be a blast and looking forward to it!

6/6/26
-Practiced FPV flight simulator for about an hour, mostly racing, will be doing freestyle more soon.
-Repaired the drone
-Replaced front half of body with a better and stronger fuselage section (PLA-CF) with optimized wire routing.
-Accidentally super glued one of the wires to the fuselage. Not catastrophic but slightly annoying.
-Next steps:
-Practice more flight sims
-Re-solder some wires for better internal wire storage
-Fly and PID tune
