My first basic website (and devlog!!)
Yesterday I completed the Hack Club Sunbs guide to coding a basic website, called “Sunrise”. I coded with HTML/CSS/JS and used VS Code for the first time. It was so much fun seeing it come to life (and doing stuff like picking the colors for my website!!). After a finished the basic page, I realized that
a) my website had a massive forehead, I kid you not
b) it was one page. that’s sooo boring
c) everything got increasingly smaller…which was weird
So then I figured out that I could control the size of my margin, so I turned my website’s poor massive forehead into a normal sized one.
Right before that, I’d created a second page to my website and kinda linked them together by using a next button on my first page. It worked perfectly…until I tried making a previous button on my second page. I literally tried debugging this for maybe twenty minutes before I realized I literally had only forgotten the dang thing that was supposed to let the different coding languages talk with each other. I also realized that I don’t need to make the headings chronological , , and that the numbers were actually based on size. Now my website looks a lot more…website-y instead of put-together-chaos!!
