I just wanted to see how everything fits together! I hate Onshape so I only have the left side, but you can use your imagination. I’m going to make the actuator connecter a bit wider so it doesn’t clash.
The actuator that I’m ordering already has screws, so I’m just going to use those to connect them to the actuator!
I got things printing (yay!) however I noticed some things. I didn’t leave any clearance for the wires on the servos, so it didn’t actually fit on the base. For the servo attachment, I forgot to design a mirrored version. Ima upload my new files to github for @skhsmrn to print :)
animations on the way!!! and a few icon indicators replacing the crosshair. These few hours have been dedicated to debugging and adding more polishing details (sfx, anim, etc.) idk why im doing this so soon, just trying to keep some motivation. I still got allat of other features i need to implement. the game is almost there though 😭🙏
Now it looks like this! All I need to do is find how to connect the actuator, do the electronics, and design the case and mount. Hopefully ship by this weekend :,)
Modeling the linear actuator but I’m getting an error and it’s almost 1 am so I’m good for the night :)
I used paper to figure out the correct measurements and then adjust my parts accordingly. I also assembled them so it looks proper. I haven’t added the extra bars that go on top because I don’t know how to make them look good. (TBH I don’t know how to make anything look good in cad).
The lighting changes everything… Too bad these lights cant be baked in unity ;( but on the bright side, it does look creepier. I might add a flashlight to help the player see better, idk yet. I did more planning for the game’s story but still need to tweak some stuff, i’m not quite sure where my story is going haha
the design is similar to the one at undercity and I estimated the lengths of each bar with the holes that will connect each bar. Instead of servos for each wing, I’m going to try a linear actuator at the base of both wings for movement.
I also included my brainstorming + and my inspiration, however my wings aren’t going to be that big haha. I want to spray paint it silver!
My next steps is using paper to make sure that these lengths are proper and to see how I can make it look cooler without effect the base.
Bracelet PCB!
Just finished the routing and design for my bracelet, it includes an esp32-c3, some accelerometer, though I have a similar one, and a b2b connector for my lipo battery. I had to edit the footprint of the esp32 because the antenna outline was clipping my edge cut, giving me some errors. All together, the esp32’s antenna will sit on top of the pcb anyways.
I added cutouts to the side to make it easier to attach the ribbon. I have also included my reference for a better idea.
Very quick design for the electronics, it’s a walkman! I made holes for the usb cable/battery and the wires running through.
I finished the CAD for the sides of my headphones! I made a mock of the servo to show how it’d fit in assembly. Next would be designing the box of where’d the wires and connectors go to while I wear it, it’s going to be Walkman themed :)
