Updated the website.

  • Added a new style of challenge (steganography) with 5 new flag to find.
  • Fixed the navigation .
  • Took advice and and added guide for each challenge page on how to use the challenges better.
  • Linked the new challenges into the system, progress trackers, answer sheet.

I had some good fun making these challenges since it was something I had never done before so it was new for me. Taking inspiration from all different challenges I have completed in the past making my own.

Decided to add a new challenge type and page to my website. I set up the challenge and got it linked into the site as well as wrote out the answers and such. I haven’t proof read anything yet but thats not 12:30 at night me problems. I also took some of the feedback and tried to add a section at each challenge page that explains on how to use the challenges better. On random note stego seems like such a wrong way to abbreviate steganography but after 50 times of checking that it is I decided to just leave it.

I made a custom new tab page themed around an astronomy aesthetic. The page has a little notes app, ability to add personalised bookmarks, different themes, and a moon showing the current phase.

Though I normally have problems with my JS (which I still did have) I was able to use some code from other projects to help me save time with the JS which was nice. I also enjoyed making the the styling for this project and making multiple themes since I hadn’t done that before.

Really just did a couple of last edits before I want to ship. I think I should have everything I need so I should be good. (Photos just show the quick notes feature, and the adding personalised bookmarks.)

Well I was actually able to use a lot of JS that I had used in the past to help with some of this project which was really nice (so so much time saved). Though took some help and a while to get the moon phase tracker working. Well I think it is mostly working now but I will have to see.

I started the page and got down the base. Don’t have a full plan of what I am gonna do yet but thats later me problems. Have the search working along with some simple themes to start with.

I made a webOS styled around a simple and clean rainy vibe. The challenge for this project was just making the decision of what I wanted to do. That along with some of the JS that I had some problem with along the way. Otherwise it was a fun project to make and I am decently happy with how it came out.

Didn’t like the previous design so scrapped it and started again (this is the 5th time I have redesigned so it very well could happen again). Also fixed most of the JS, so the note app and calculator are now both working. Added resizing to the windows as well.

Ok so that did not go smoothly. Don’t know what happened but brain just was not functioning at all. Absolutely no processing happening in my brain. There were so many stupid errors involved, so I restarted twice… anyway finally got a base at least. I will be adding more and styling later. Looks quite bland at the moment, not the vibes.

The idea of this page was to create a selection of easy to hard challenges that cover a range of different cryptography ciphers as well as web exploration challenges. Creating a CTF style challenge website to learn, problem solve, and explore some cybersecurity areas.

What I found was challenging during this process was the fact that I was having to learn and pick up the javascript as I created the project. Due to having to learn the javascript as I went, since I had very basic knowledge at the start, this added to the time aspect quite a lot. I also did many new things in terms of styling to page which led to more errors and time that I spent learning and fixing as I went.

Though I do like how the site turned out and am happy that I was able to create around fourteen challenges in total. I was also quite proud of how the styling did turn out since making many of the elements was new to me.

When testing this page and going through the challenges, everything that you need for the cryptography challenges is provided if you need the assistance. To complete the web exploration challenges you will need to be able to use the inspect element tool.

I made a webpage about myself that I can also use similar to a portfolio for myself. The page includes information on me as well as links to other project(s) that I have and will be creating.
Through this project, styling and me just didn’t seem to get along. I always ended up messing up which seemed to normally end up with it just being an issue of a nested div not being correct. Though these tend to mess me up since I never seem to spot them. Style wise though I am happy with the results of how the page looks. I wanted to take inspiration from old newspapers for the style of the page and I think I did my best to represent this idea. Though I did have the limitations of how I wanted it to look vs. what I was actually putting on the page for content.
I did not use AI to code any of this site, I only used it to point out where two errors were, both of which were the nested div errors that I was just being very very blind to. I did not use AI in any other way.

Well I added some challenges and finally got round to editing the home page which I had been putting off for ages now. I want to fix the intro text for the home page but not much else for now. I think I am mostly done and might think about shipping soon but we will see how we go.

Well I decided that it would be good to have a page with all the answers to the challenge so here we are. Each challenge will have a quick description on how to solve it, as well as the final flag. I also did some re-styling and adding little things in here and there.

So I got a couple more challenges done for the site today. I think I may only do 2 more challenges (one in in each section) for now so hopefully that will happen tomorrow. Anyway the pic is from one of the web challenges I made, like the last 3 were.

So that took so much longer than I thought it was going to. Not to mention the challenge that I wanted to compleat is still not done, but I don’t want to continue tonight so here I am. Oh well, I think the base of the entier site is mostly done for now. I am just going though and adding the challenges now. I think I have about ten and half done, but I will be focusing on adding them from now on.
