I have spent some time consolidating code in areas such as the Modal. This will make it more consistent to close the modal using esc and clicking outside. This will make it cleaner to use my app. This modals use daisyUI, but eventually I plan to move off of daisyUI for better accessibility support. I have also dramatically improved the usability of new citation feature.
I have added a new inline citation option, this will make it easier for people to add citations while they are working on their document. In the future, I want to clean up this citation maker screen since it is messy at the moment.
I have added citations, one of the most difficult aspects of the MLA format to my app. Eventually, I would like to add a quick access to citations using a hotkey such as @ or / like Notion or Google Docs for easiest adding. I used AI to help configure these menus. There is sometimes confusing rules for MLA, and I used it to help speed up this process. In the future, I will help clean up this menu.
I am working on a block-based text editor that makes it simple to maintain MLA format. In school, many teachers require the MLA format in any submission. This format can be difficult to maintain, and it can be useful to work in an app that forces you to follow MLA’s requirements. So far, I have built the UI and set up the storing system. I have run into difficulties with setting up the sidebar. When originally making it, both were taking up the entire space, creating nasty double-scrolling. Most of this app is based off of my previous Bubblesheets web project that I had made before.
