Hi, I’m Sai Nikhil. I’m building a space rover that uses a quantum computer to make navigation decisions.

A quantum computer on a space rover solves a major communication gap. Usually, classical rovers experience massive communication latencies waiting for commands from Earth. A quantum computer removes this communication gap entirely by allowing the rover to make high-level autonomous decisions on its own.

Furthermore, planetary surfaces are chaotic and highly unpredictable. In these situations, classical computers take far too much time to calculate paths because they have to evaluate one path at a time. A quantum computer leverages SUPERPOSITION to analyze every possible path simultaneously, enabling rapid execution and quick movement in unpredictable terrain.

This space rover project is completely simulation-based right now, but I am building it with a strict sim-to-real pipeline architecture so that the code can seamlessly port onto physical hardware in the future.

I’m still learning quantum computing, so this is very much a “building while learning” project!

NOTE: Its just an surface level view on my project for those who are new to this and i know its not fully technicallly correct but i just want to explain my project in a simple way possible. Thats it :)
