Devlog 1: Brew App
Hi stardance, I hope you are doing well. Im currently working on an app that helps teenagers reflect on large moments in their lives. Teenagers including me already use instagram to create little capsules with music, stickers, friends, and photos. My idea with this app is to provide the same outlet but make it something private to them as an outlet to reflect on large moments in their lives, while even including more weird and ambitious features like picking a location on a map to represent a moment, creating your own soundscape with music and effects like rain or fire, and a little sketch tool which I actually developed today, in which color is based on the speed the person draws with. This app is almost meant to act as an artistic collage that has a much lower activation energy than for example writing a long journal entry
Today I worked on both the photo tool and the drawing tool and the photo picker. I got the drawing completely working it seems so far, but the photo tool is still in progress. I got a proxy for my Unsplash key so people can select photos from Unsplash without seeing my access key in the app if they unpack it. I honestly challenge you to go into my github / app and try to find it, you wont!!!!
Wearable Creation Part 2: Today I quickly finalized the Cad model for the case of my wearable by fixing the buttons, ports etc. Eventually I will recreate the file to make sure I don’t use external obj files that mess with the edits.
My Gym Wearable: Creation Part 1: I just figured out this uses markdown so thats cool. Anyways Im working on my gym wearable (which you can check out on github for information on what it does in the readme.md), and I soldered the IMU and EMG to the screen and I made a majority of the early software I need for the device to get into the recording process to make a machine learning model. I also finished designing the case for the device based on an existing case I found online but edited to fit the EMG and battery. Sadly, I brought the device with my on a hike since I left it in my backpack and it moved around and cracked so I will re-solder (which I am actually happy about since I would’ve needed to) and purchase another display. Overall, I got data form all of the controllers and I’ve made amazing progress, almost done with the wearable actually. I also created the repo for the project (with the readme) and did a lot of research into scaling this device with multiple sensors
