DEVLOG 1
Heyy! I just started the blare project and have done a decent amount of the work in just 2 hrs. I made the pcb which was kinda simple and also I started making the 3d model (I hate it). I kinda wish that there were a desk clock type of aesthetic screen in the component list, so that I could put it on my desk, but this works too.

Check out the pcb design… (the yummers is a homelander ref btw)

I assembled the whole pcb. This was my first time soldering a PCB, and it was kinda fun. Everything was going okayish, but in the end I messed up by soldering the Ardunio nano chip’s pins together. I tried to fix it, but I wasn’t able to. I think I am gonna go to a hardware shop tomorrow, and ask them to fix it.

Today I wrote all the firmware of the player. I basically wrote 2 scripts. A python script which renames all the songs into indexes (000-999) cuz the DFplayer plays in indexes. The second script was the actual firmware which I wrote in C. The first part (all the helper functions) was not that difficult, but the ardunio part was really time consuming and confusing. I will definitely watch some more videos on how ardunio code is written.

Check out my Github Repo, and please give me your technical feedback! Most of this project has been using AI to guess the correct thing. That’s why I would love some feeback.

I finally made the body. Check it out! It is a little basic and simple, but I am going to accept it as it does all the functions. I imported pre built models of buttons first, but they couldn’t be edited, so I had to make them myself. I also decided to use some kind of stickers or markers to mark the buttons rather than inside fusion.

YOO! I started a new hardware project. The initial plan was something like an Ipod (looks and features), but it was too complicated for me. I then dumb downed the idea and started working on it. Researching about parts is really confusing but Gemini helpled a lot. I worked on the pcb and have ended the day by completing the pcb.

This is my first personal hardware project ever, so I would love feedback/constructive criticism from an expert.

Check out the planning, the schematics, and the pcb design.

I tried to write the firmware in QMK, but it was getting errors for some reason. I even tried copy pasting direct Gemini code, but it still didn’t compile. Then I switched to KMK, and it was comparatively simple. I write the firmware in KMK, and then wrote my readme. Now my next devlog will, hopefully, be me physically building it.

DEVLOG 3

I WOULDN’T WISH FUSION ON EVEN MY WORST ENEMY!

Yesterday, I completed the PCB design, and I thought the 3D model will be done quicker than the PCB, but I was so wrong. It took me 3 hours just to get the rectangle and its walls. The software really confused me although I know how to use Blender. I ended up completing the design after locking in.

See the design please!

Tomorrow is firmware day.

DEVLOG 2

After locking in for 5 hours, I have managed to make the PCB board. It wasn’t dificult to make it, but I accidentally went in the rabbit hole of adding too many components. There weren’t enough wire layers for me to route 10 leds, oled, roller, and the 7 key matrix. I tried multiple time with different layouts but it was not working. In the end, I gave up on the backlights, added an 8th key and finished the pcb. Check it out! Please let me know if something is done wrong.

I have built a web application called WikiGame. WikiGame is an online game in which you are given a random Wikipedia start page and must reach a designated target page using only the hyperlinks present within the articles.

The most challenging part was the Wikipedia page requests and Flask session setup. I had no clue how either of them worked which made me rework their systems multiple times.

I am proud of making a project after such a long time. I had taken a break from tech (coding etc) last years, and it feels good to be back.

The game instructions are mentioned. My advice for playing the game would be to find country pages as soon as possible as those are the best linked.

To see the game records, you need to to go to the “/history” route rather than play or index. I intentionally didn’t leave a button in the header as I wanted the game records to be kept online but separate.

Play a few rounds! I hope yall enjoy it!

DEVLOG 3 (last)

Finally wrote the readme and made the project complete.

Check out and play the game at: https://wiki-game-phi.vercel.app/

If u don’t know how to play, visit the project page.

(Go to /history to get database records)

Let me know what you think!

My WikiGame is complete althought there is room for a lot of improvements. I completed the basics too, added a database, and even hosted it on Vercel.
I wanted to add an AI to find the most optimized part, but it would require deep machine learning knowlodge. So, I will do that in future maybe. The website is live tho I am gonna share the link when I write the readme as well.

The interface is plain and simple, cuz I don’t like CSS and I am also trying to follow the Wikipedia aesthetics.

I might need to add compatibility with phones etc in the future.

See screenshots of the interface, a page and the history page:

DEVLOG 1
I started a new project “WikiGame” so check out the game’s description. Today I did these things:

  1. Made the structure of the game on a piece of paper for better brainstorming.
  2. Implemented the Wikipedia API (took a lot of convo with Gemini).
  3. Made the whole (almost) flask backend which renders the pages locally, gives random start and target pages, keeps score, goes to the win page when you reach target.

I still need to do cover some more things like making the database infrastructure etc.

Would love some feedback! (Check my Github page)

DEVLOG #1
Hey! This is my first log. I tested out how the whole ecosystem works, and I also did the setups for the two softwares I am going to need for this project. Along with this, I designed my first ever PCB that is of the 3-key Hackpad (shown in the tutorial). It’s a fun software! I am going to start working on how matrices work because I want my Hackpad to be stacked.
