MiniPod is a simple MP3 player which functions using the Arduino Nano, and It even has an OLED Display. It has an Audio Jack for the output and plays songs from a MicroSD card. It is made so that I can listen to songs offline and without the distractions of a Smartphone in environments like the GYM. It is inspired by the Apple Ipod.

I assembled the whole pcb. This was my first time soldering a PCB, and it was kinda fun. Everything was going okayish, but in the end I messed up by soldering the Ardunio nano chip’s pins together. I tried to fix it, but I wasn’t able to. I think I am gonna go to a hardware shop tomorrow, and ask them to fix it.

Today I wrote all the firmware of the player. I basically wrote 2 scripts. A python script which renames all the songs into indexes (000-999) cuz the DFplayer plays in indexes. The second script was the actual firmware which I wrote in C. The first part (all the helper functions) was not that difficult, but the ardunio part was really time consuming and confusing. I will definitely watch some more videos on how ardunio code is written.

I finally made the body. Check it out! It is a little basic and simple, but I am going to accept it as it does all the functions. I imported pre built models of buttons first, but they couldn’t be edited, so I had to make them myself. I also decided to use some kind of stickers or markers to mark the buttons rather than inside fusion.

YOO! I started a new hardware project. The initial plan was something like an Ipod (looks and features), but it was too complicated for me. I then dumb downed the idea and started working on it. Researching about parts is really confusing but Gemini helpled a lot. I worked on the pcb and have ended the day by completing the pcb.
This is my first personal hardware project ever, so I would love feedback/constructive criticism from an expert.
