I made a video transmission system using Pluto radios that can transmit images! It can transmit webcam feed and we also tested using ADS-B (flight signals) to transmit a rendered map. The hardest part was trying to optimize it to be somewhat realtime, we used 24-bit color compression and 16-QAM but if we had more time we would have used some other compression techniques like maybe MPEG. You can try it at home if you have two Pluto radios, one will transmit and the other receives.

ADS-B Airplane tracking added! The photo is created using folium, then sent over the radio. One radio receives ADS-B and transmits photos, the other radio receives the photos and renders them. Plus more optimization features and tweaking

Basic radio transmission using QAM with ~1 FPS video, 40x40 and 8bit color (3 3 2 RGB). Slightly inconsistent but works decently and can transmit across a hallway.

Basic UI for chatting implemented. Everything is translated in Portuguese if the user desires and i use ZDR models only for ethical reasons.
