I made a cyberdeck! I always wanted to make a cyberdeck, motivated from a friend who made one before. However, the thing that always bugged me about them were that they always were 1) very short lifespan and 2) were kinda useless compared to just normal laptops. I know that cyberdecks are meant to be more stylistic and not really useful but I really wanted a useful cyberdeck, leading me to make this project.
To solve these issues, I had 2 solutions: 1) custom battery, 2) storage boxes.
I used a custom battery with 13.80 Ah of capacity, which gives the deck around a 10 hour lifespan at full charge (it only draws 1.5 amps normally which is kinda wild) and so that solves the first issue.
I utilized a medium sized pelican case to allow for more storage of the large battery and also to allow for the placement of some cubbies for tools like a multimeter, soldering iron, etc. It adds on that extra functionality that a laptop cannot, it’s a on the move workstation.
