Pretty much finished with the PCB design other than the problem of the sk6812 mini-e led which the pad of it, goes over the edge of the edge cut of its own footprint. I will need to ask someone if this ok tomorrow as it is shown as an error in the design rules checker of kicad. Here is my project so far with the problem in one of the photos, the schematic is the same so not going to show it in this devlog.

Finished pretty much everything but I did a DRC and it gave a 8 errors and 128 warnings so next time will have to fix all of those. Added mounting holes in order for me to be able to mount it to a 3d printed case. Also removed one button and led for space and added some logos and text.

I started by editing the test points then worked on the pcb layout and came up with this design. I ran into a problem where the pads of the Xiao MMwave would be on the back side instead of just the front and when I removed them it made it so the pads 2, 6, 8, 13 were not the same as the other ones and then I had to to go into the configuration of each indiviudal pad and fixed them all to be the same and to be as good as I could possibly get it to.

I finished the schematic by adding some test points and some more buttons and leds. I also made everything look nice by adding boarders and text for names of the parts. I also made sure to ask in slack for a sanity check and still waiting to hear back as of this post.

Working on adding all components to the schematic in kicad. Ran into a problem where I could not find the XIAO 24GHZ MMWAVE SENSOR HUMAN so I edited a normal xiao board 14U to make it into a XIAO 24GHZ MMWAVE SENSOR HUMAN because their is no symbol for it that I could find. Next steps are to add a screen to the schematic and finish the schematic.

I started component placement and ran into a problem about the amount of space because I am pretty sure I am limited to 100x100mm and currently I am like 300x200. Finished the 3d model of components.

I finished the schematic and also added sliders and added capacitors for the lights and sliders. Might need some more room for the pcb because 100x100 will probably not be enough. Ran into a problem when assigning footprints because I have these external pins so in the future I could add other things but I couldn’t find it but then I changed one character when looking it up and it worked.😅

I changed my plan into doing 21 switches, and 3 Rotary encoders, Lights, and added some external connectors so that in the future I could add more if needed. I relized at the end that I might need 0.1uF capacitors for each light and I am going to ask slack after I post this.

I started working on the schemadic and ran in to a problem with the Xiao RP2040 because of its limited gpio pins and decided to add a MCP23017 in order to be able to use 16 switches, 1 screen, and 2 rotary encoders. The reason I am going with this is because I want to make a really cool mixing board for dj things.
