‘ve been learning HTML and CSS for about two days now through freeCodeCamp, and instead of just doing the exercises I figured I’d build something real at the same time. So this is what came out of that.

The game is called Tipu atau Betul? which means Scam or Real? in Malay. Basically you get shown a suspicious message, like a fake bank SMS or a WhatsApp scam, and you have to decide if it’s a scam or legit before a timer runs out. Wrong answers deduct money from your in-game savings. There’s a Classic mode with 10 cases and a Survival mode that just goes until you’re broke.

The reason I went with this topic specifically is that scams in Malaysia are genuinely a problem, and most of the awareness tools out there don’t really reflect how these messages actually look locally. So I wanted to build something that does.

I used AI to help with the code since I’m still very new to this. The concept and all the design decisions were mine though. Still figuring out how to deploy it properly, so the demo link isn’t up yet. That’s what I’m sorting out next.
