Background

I already had built a tool* that fetched Wikimedia paintings from the front-end to display a random one in the background, I improved it. Now I added more keywords so that it fetches classical paintings mostly, it still fails and gives some really bizarre stuff sometimes, but it definetly is better. Maybe in the future I will create a collection of hand picked ones, although it will take the surprise out of it.

Now each article title has a link linking to that article, just now I realize in NYT and Wired I need a subscription to read (which i dont have) but it can still inform me.
Hacker News is notoriously different, thats because the articles are community shared, and the descriptions almost always make no sense, so theres no need in showing them. Instead i designed a prettier linker and programmed it to display 20 of the most recent entries instead of the usual 10.

Other and sources

The calendar has a bit more opacity so I can see it better. I removed the scrolling from the news section, it bothered me. Now theres a favicon for the tab and notification, the Chilean emblem. All the “special” fonts are from Google Fonts, I didn’t download them, just linked them.
