Got the Slack Bot working! It successfully uses an arXiv discover API of mine that I built a while back and integrates it using child_process in Node.js. It took a bit of time to debug why the JSON parsing was failing, but then I found an old print() statement where it shouldn’t be! Use /pancakeheads-bot-help to get started!
