This is my initial work session for a device I am working on. It intends to detect approaching cars on a pedestrian crosswalk using a CV camera and alert the pedestrian(s) that cars are approaching, potentially preventing a collision. Today, I worked on designing the initial CAD model to be mounted on an American road signage post. I added the camera bracket, as well as the entire housing. I will definitely print this when I get the chance, but I do expect to make multiple versions of the casing to ensure the camera is positioned at the right angle and all installed hardware can be accounted for. I plan to work on the main software for this device once I do receive the parts, but I am working on training a webcam to detect these vehicle scenarios by using autonomous vehicle databases. If anyone had any advice on working with CV detection, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading my Devlog! (apologize for the wordiness, this is my first one)
