What a hectic 25 minutes! The original goal of this project is to get it to be able to automatically pull announcements and assignments from canvas with as little effort from the user as possible, but only after doing some research (like 10-15 hours of working on this project later), I REALIZED YOU NEED A DEVELOPER KEY FOR THE API METHOD I WAS THINKING OF!!

That was pretty frustrating, because there’s no way I’m going to get permissions from all the schools I want to reach from this eventually that a random person built a schedule app and just ask them to allow me to access their data.

Thankfully though, I managed to figure out a workaround, which is to create a lightweight browser extension that just gets the data from canvas and sends it to the website. I’ve literally never built a chrome extension before, but I got it to pull a bit of info from canvas automatically and print to console.

(oh also I got an ugly looking login page working, but hey at least it works!)
