First Devlog for Polaris Pad #1

I wanted to make a macro pad for all kinds of reasons, most of them because I have an 80% keyboard, and programs like Blender or other productivity programs have default keybinds for a 100% keyboard, which is annoying.
There are many benefits to having a macro pad, like having shortcuts for applications, sound effects, and many more.

I used the Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040 microcontroller because the chip is one of the most common chips used in keyboards and it’s powerful enough for this task.

For the switches, I’m going to use 9 Cherry MX switches, and the pad will have a 0.91 inch OLED screen and an encoder. I’m still not sure what the screen will show, but I’ll come up with something.

For now, I’ve only done the schematics and the PCB design, and I’m not sure if the designs are final, since this is the first version I came up with, so it might change.

In the next stages, I want to make a case for the pad, and I want the first version of the firmware to be pretty basic and then update it later.

When the project is ready, I’m going to upload the whole project to GitHub so everyone can use it.
