Day 19 — Connecting the Desktop Application

  • Connected the GUI to the existing src.ping() backend
    o Integrated calculations for average latency, min/max
    latency, packet loss, and jitter

  • Added user input for number of tests and delay between tests
    o Added input validation for test count and delay values

  • Used ArrayList to store multiple ping results

  • Connected the calculated results to the GUI’s live result labels

  • Learned why Double.MAX_VALUE is useful when calculating a minimum value and how Thread.sleep() creates the delay between tests

  • Next: Test the full workflow, fix any bugs, and make the GUI responsive before moving toward final polish/shipping :DD
