This project builds a compact, cost-effective, and fully wireless remote monitoring station for 3D printers using the ESP32-CAM micro-architecture. It addresses the critical need for continuous supervision during long print runs, mitigating risks like print failure (“spaghetti prints”) or hardware hazards. The system runs a lightweight local web server directly on the microcontroller chip, eliminating any dependence on third-party cloud applications. Users can open an interactive web browser dashboard on any local network device to monitor print progress via a continuous, low-latency live video feed. Furthermore, the interface includes a remote snapshot utility that temporarily switches the hardware sensor to High-Definition mode to capture, review, and store sharp, high-resolution progress updates on demand.
