Just started working on an application that would (hopefully) be able to track satellite movement and activity remotely. I have created a simple gui with different sections of the app that I plan to build (they don’t lead anywhere currently) and VERY SIMPLE glassmorphism styling and in the middle, as shown will be a render of Earth with a visual representation of tracked satellites above it. I thought I should go through with this idea due to the name of the competition I guess (stardance) and also the partnership with nasa. I also spent a while figuring out why the interface looked like a really simplified html menu bar but this was because the tailwind build system was missing so @apply wasn’t getting recognised so all the formatting was wrong but I fixed that. For some reason it is saying I logged 28 minutes but I have spent around an hour on it so far. Just to be completely transparent, I did utilise claude code for some small aspects of it as this is my first time building software like this. Next steps are probably to import or create an interactive earth 3d model, then be able to determine the actual satellite positions in a flightradar fashion possibly by using nasa apis. Thank you!
