Are you struggling to solder like me? After further research I learned that wattage matters a ton in the objects you try to solder. Temperature is, for the most part, never the issue. And standard solder is also not much of a limiting factor. The issue? The wattage of your soldering iron. Many devices you seek to solder require 100+ watts if your a drone builder like me. And for this project the difference is huge. Don’t be like me, and I’ll be making some big changes soon for my material list and wiring guide.

I suck at soldering so much. Im not sure what I was doing today but it was way worse than what I’ve done before. I got to redo that tomorrow, prove myself worthy.

Just finished up all the mounts, make building way more accessible. I plan to place holes for convenience once I get the parts and get to positioning the motor wires. Hard to find out how the motor wires will fit so far. I also added screw holes so that you can use the screws I listed in the materials without any hassle. Ill keep you posted with updates. I’d say that after building the drone the final model would be ready for shipping since I’ll see any issues with assembly and try to make it easier. I try to make it as easy and affordable as possible. Im testing for EVERYTHING. See these big circles? Full clearance for spinning. I also had to adjust the heights of the mounts and other things. The material list will also be getting an update in the near future. Stay tuned!

I realized the drone propellers were massive so I had to add more depth to the mounts. I’ll have to add more changes to the mounting hardware but as for electronics its set in stone.

Just finished updating my GitHub repo, it looks much more official now just like the tutorial. Once I get parts in I’ll be able to give an accurate description of how to wire, and organize everything just like the way I’ll do it myself.

I finished the final CAD file for my drone. The frame took over 50 hours, and the main hub took around only 5 hours. A ton of optimization and customization but its certainly rewarding just to look at it. I will keep you guys updated once I get the parts in over the next few days. If your new to drone building join my journey because I’m going from little experience with drones to becoming a master!
