My own macropad project!
My own macropad project!
Finally finished CloudPad! I made some tweaks to the PCB design so now the diodes are on the side below the board. Although the shape of the macropad itself isn’t a square, I was able to arrange the switches so that they are square. I used TinkerCad to design the case. I wanted it to be a very open, light design, so the PCB isn’t actually fully enclosed. I rounded out the sides to make it “cloud-like” and put it at a 5 degree angle for some better ergonomics.
Today I was able to design the PCB for CloudPad, a nine-key macropad that will be able to open up my favorite apps with ease. Rather than using a pin on the board per key, I opted to use a diode matrix, which is something I’ve never done before. In the end, I think the PCB came out looking well, though I am worried that the board won’t come out perfectly square as I wanted, so maybe I’ll make some revisions later.
