**DEVLOG #05

hello! i put a lot of my time in here for making the app that i think will be the most useful one here (or at least for us isaac players), which is the Compendium app!

What is Compendium?

Compendium is this app i made that shows every item, trinket, challenge and character of The Binding of Isaac. it works like a little wiki (not so little since there are more than 720 items and trinkets) and shows every item sorting them by the ID ingame, shows their quality and if they have to be unlocked ingame, it shows you how to unlock them. You can also sort it based on what DLCs u have, default is having all of them (steam sale saved a lot of players). same thing even for trinkets but they don’t have quality in game so the only sorting is DLCs and then the last section of the app is the Unlocks where u can choose and see either how to unlock characters, how to unlock challenges and what reward they give u or all the items that have to be unlocked.

What i will add in the future (today or tomorrow probably)

the app is 90% done and i wanna add a boss section with tips on how to fight them and a reccomended unlock icon on all of the unlocks that are fundamental for progressing in the game.

How did i develop it

ok so i thought scraping the web for data was easier, turns out it wasnt and i crashed out multiple times. there are SO MANY items, trinkets and things to get data from and getting all of them was not easy, i tried getting them myself but i gave up halfway through, had to use ai for all the scraping. the worst thing is that it was causing problems and forgetting things and i was always adding them later on, like first i got all the items and that’s it, then i remembered to sort the things, then that not all of them are unlocked, then how to unlock etc etc and thankfully i wasn’t the one that had to scrape all of that data.
